Overdrive: Installing Overdrive Software
If you plan to download and use OverDrive files on your computer or mobile device, you will need to install some software to help you out.
For information on what OverDrive formats are compatible with which devices, visit the OverDrive Device Resource Center.
Traditional Computer or eReader
Desktop / Laptop Computer or Dedicated eReader (e.g. Nook Simple Touch, Kindle Paper White)
If you are using a computer or an e-reader that doesn't have Internet access or let you install apps, you will have to download the files to your computer.
If you want to then put the OverDrive content on your e-reader or other mobile device, you will have to sideload it .This just means that you will use some third party software to get it to your phone or e-reader. For eBooks, this means downloading and installing Adobe Digital Editions. For eAudiobooks, this means OverDrive Media Console. Both are free and easy to use.
Step 1
Go to the My Locker area of your OverDrive account.
Click the Get Software button.
