Summer Reading

Summer Reading

Summer reading is required at WCCHS.  Why?  According to the National Summer Reading Association "For many young people, the summer “opportunity gap” contributes to gaps in achievement, employment and college and career success." Studies on this website found students who did not read during the summer months lagged behind their book reading peers.   Let's close the learning gap and read!

Where can I get my summer reading books?  You can read your book online using Overdrive.  Login in using your school email address and internet password.  From Overdrive's home page choose the Collections tab and look for summer reading lists.  Barnes & Noble in Geneva will have our books available, as well as West Chicago Public Library.
